VMWare information at CheapVPS

There are different version of VMWare software. Unfortunatly, EULA of version which provides good performance prohibits using it in VPS provider companies.

VMWare version which could be used for VPS is able to provide virtual private servers by emulating hardware. Since it emulates a lot of hardware functions it had huge overhead (approx. 60%). Due to huge overhead VMWare isn't ideal choice for VPS. VPS providers rather choose lately other virtualization software with less overhead. Still, some providers uses VMWare.

Although big disadvantage is speed of VPS its provides, VMWare has some advantages. Advantages of using VMWare are its ability to run virtual servers which use different kernel and even different operating systems. VMWare is able to run whichever operating system you like and therefore you can usually choice wide broad of different operating systems at VPS hosting providers which use VMWare.

We don't recommend using it due to speed of VPS(virtual dedicated servers) it provides.
